Paka
Gender Female[/blockquote] [/blockquote][/font]
Age Four
Appearance Moderately bulkier than your typical lioness, Paka weighs in at about 328 pounds and stands about 3' 4" at the shoulder. Her fur is of a golden rust color, deepening along her back and on the top her head. Faint spots are mottled about on her legs and the sides of her belly. Her gaze is fierce and strong, showing a lioness that doesn't back down to whoever opposes her. Her most noticeable feature, however, is the 6-8 inch stub that's left of her tail.
Personality: A little short of being an aggressor, Paka holds her own fairly well for a lioness. She practically laughs in the face of danger, though she may not always be suited for it. Her mindset tells her that dignity comes before failure, so she doesn't always make the best choices. On the other hand, she's rather fun to be around, for she loves to tell stories, especially to cubs. A favorite tale of hers is on how she'd lost her tail, though sometimes it can be a little exaggerated.
History (Prior history when I can think of something >>)
Paka's tail injury did not come from a vicious fight with another lion, nor was she born with it. When she had just about turned 3 years of age, she and the other lionesses of the pride were out hunting. After much observation and debating they collectively took down a chosen wildebeest in a shallow bit of a river crossing. Though they worked quickly to relocate their prey, crocodiles soon began teeming around them, eager to steal away their share. The older lionesses grudgingly decided to leave the kill before they too became a feast, but not Paka. The young feline refused to leave the kill to the beasts of the river and began hauling it slowly on her own. The crocodiles and the other lionesses watched intently, waiting for one to make a move. One can easily guess that it was indeed the crocs that made their move, one having jumped up in a fury, tearing off a large portion of Paka's tail. Swallowing her dignity, she left the wildebeest to the overgrown reptiles, garnishing not a deep seated fear for them, but a hatred. From that time on the lioness has made it a point to mock and tease the crocodiles, often putting herself in great danger just to get a spot of revenge against a creature that could easily kill her.
